ALL THINGS DONE THROUGH GOD FULL
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” ( Ephesians 6:13) God equips us with the armor we need to stand firm: We aren’t meant to just slog through the pain we’re meant to see our faith blossom right in the face of our battles. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” ( James 1:2–4)Ĭhrist gives us the strength to not only endure the tough times, but also to grow during them. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

James knew that type of struggle very well, and yet he could honestly say: But what truly sets us apart as followers of Jesus is that we can find victory in the most difficult trials. In Christ, we will certainly see joyful times, just as anyone does. We think of parades and celebrations.īut true victory often happens far away from the crowd.
ALL THINGS DONE THROUGH GOD TV
We think of spotlights and TV coverage and fame. When we think of victory, we often envision champions with trophies or medals. The strength of Christ reaches right down into our turmoil and pain.Īnd it’s there that we can truly do “all things.” Here are 3 surprising ways this happens: 1. Despite the threat of pain and death, he realized that God gives us strength in ways that go beyond the good times and the everything-is-okay moments. You see, Paul wrote these words while facing some of the worst trials of his life. Rather, they were given that we might not only be blessed, but also be a blessing.“ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”īut there’s actually more encouragement in this verse than you might think at first. God's grace and blessings were not given simply for us to sit in church and feel good. This means that whatever gifts and abilities God has given us by His grace we should use them for His glory. Philippians 2:13 says, “for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Grace, which is God's life, comes into us and works in us and through us so that we can be all and do all in His service. The grace of God is not earned by works, but it produces work done in His service. God wants us to be so full of His grace in our lives that we can say with Paul: “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10). 1 Corinthians 1:30 says, “But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.”

Sanctification is the process of being set aside, in our case being set aside for the purposes of God. According to 2 Thessalonians 2:13, “because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.” Indeed, not only are we in right standing with God, but also our right living depends on grace. Our justification is not something we receive because of good works, but because of the payment Jesus paid for us at the cross when he suffered and died.

According to Romans 3:24, “being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.” We may be considered to be right by God only because of His grace and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which is available to us because Jesus willingly lay down His life for us, paying the price we deserved for our rebellion against God.
